Join us for some of the best industry leading trainings conducted by certified, professional and talented trainers!

This year we are excited to feature trainings which include:

Coaching for Excellence (presented by Terrie Glass of Leadership Solutions)
Training Description: Performance management is the dread of many leaders. So often we spend the majority of our time focused on the few who are problem performers. Learn how to turn your thinking and your energy in a direction that is more satisfying and more productive. If you know the basics but still struggle with managing performance, this is the workshop for you.

Taking this course will help you to:

  • Examine and improve your delegation skills
  • Learn how to distinguish inputs from outputs for proper PM focus
  • Learn a model for identifying coaching needs vs. disciplinary needs
  • Identify practical coaching and development strategies and skills
  • Learn and practice a model for handling difficult performance conversations and addressing problems effectively

Passenger Assistance Safety & Sensitivity (presented by the Community Transportation Association of America)
The Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) Trainer Certification program ensures that community transportation drivers have current expertise in passenger assistance techniques and sensitivity skills appropriate for serving persons with disabilities. The PASS program is designed as a Train-the-Trainer workshop to certify trainers who can then train drivers. Some of the advantages of offering the PASS certification program is the ability to reduce organizational liability; comprehensive, up-to-date training on the assistance drivers should be providing to passengers with special needs; intensive emergency situation training; certification oversight provided by national leaders in the community transportation field; and updates for all participants on relevant regulatory changes. The certification is valid for three years and can be renewed on-line, or by attending another PASS workshop.

Managing Community Mobility (presented by the National Transit Institute)
The customer base for transportation services has expanded greatly. Due to demographic shifts, changing job markets, environmental concerns, increasing pressure to find alternatives to the single-occupancy vehicle, and suburban/exurban land use patterns, the transportation needs of the population are changing and increasing.

Characteristics of travelers today include people with disabilities as well as low-income individuals. These groups are interested in using more independent modes of transportation services as well as improving the current system. Transportation services are sometimes fragmented and/or duplicative, creating inefficiencies for customers and extra costs for programs needing transportation. Additionally, transit services may stop at jurisdictional lines and not connect with other modes or jurisdictions.

Mobility, human service, and transportation professionals struggle to create ride options to meet the needs of these disparate consumer groups. It is time to put the pieces of this puzzle together to make a seamless transit network for those who need it. Mobility management strategies address this need in an inclusive and non-threatening manor for both human service and public transit as well as the automobile industry.

This course will examine creative approaches to resolving fragmented and/or duplicative transportation systems to create a more seamless and cost-efficient network with a customer-focused mindset.

Effective Negotiation Skills (presented by Terrie Glass of Leadership Solutions)
You have ideas to sell, projects to be completed, contracts to execute, action plans that require someone else's cooperation, and day to day work that relies on the partnership of others if it is to be completed efficiently and effectively. The skills needed to make all this happen can be learned. This course uses the tenets that grew out of the Harvard Negotiation Project and can help you to be more influential and more effective in getting others working with you on common goals.

Learning objectives include:

  • Learn and apply a tool to be sure you have the right people at the table the first time
  • Learn the key points of “principled negotiation”
  • Understand keys to influencing others
